How to Get Your Medicines
We have our own dispensary but can only dispense medication to patients who are registered at the Practice and who live more than a mile away from a Pharmacy.
When you order your prescription we need to know YOUR NAME & the NAME, STRENGTH AND DOSE of the medicines you need.
All of these details are on the slip attached to your prescription or included with your last dispensed medication.
Please allow at least 5 working days (1 full week) for repeat prescription orders. This is for your safety – to give us time for your doctor to check your prescription and for us to carry out dispensary checking procedures.
Please help us to help you by using the counterfoil from your prescription when reordering.
There are several ways you can re-order prescription items:
On-Line (either by having an Practice online account or registering with the NHS App)
To order your repeat prescription please click here . Your request will be processed the next working day i.e. if you place your order on a Wednesday morning, the order will be processed on Thursday for collection a week later. If you order on a Friday evening, it will be processed on Monday for collection on the following Monday.
In Person
Please bring your repeat prescription request slip to the Surgery and place in the post box in the entrance at either surgery.
By Post

Managed Repeat Prescription Service
Background to the service
A managed repeat prescription or “managed repeats” service is a means of the practice ordering repeat prescriptions on behalf of a patient. The repeat prescription slip is held by the practice to ensure that the repeat medication is ordered in good time without the patient having to contact the practice.
How does it work?
All requests for repeat medication are directed by the patient; we ask the patient to provide their written consent when they start to use the service – please see below.
A receptionist or dispenser will confirm the items to be ordered with the patient clarifying any similar sounding drugs, dosage forms and strengths.
The dispenser will review the repeat prescription slip to confirm that what has been prescribed matches the requests ordered by the patient.
Any discrepancies will be discussed with the doctor so these can be corrected before the prescription is collected.
At collection, the receptionist or dispenser will confirm with the patient that all the items are still required and have been dispensed. This is where the patient will then confirm what they would like to collect the following month by filling in the request prescription form and handing back to reception. This is dated and stamped by reception that passes on to dispensary to start the process again.
What happens next?
If you would like the practice to manage your repeat prescriptions, please complete your details on the attached form (please click on the link) and post it to the surgery or drop it in to the surgery post box either at Settle or Hellifield.
