Hellifield is a branch surgery and clinical staff (Nurses &/or GP’s) are not based at this surgery every day. Therefore, when there are no clinical staff at Hellifield, the surgery will only open for prescriptions during the hours below:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday AM: 9.00am -12.15pm
Tuesday & Thursday PM: 2.00 – 5.30pm.
Our surgery doors will be closed and Telephones lines will be off between 1:00 – 6:00pm at both Settle & Hellifield Surgeries, normal service hours will resume at 8:00AM the following morning. For closure dates please see below.
Should you require support during our closure, LCD our support services, should be called if you need to speak to a clinician urgently 0345 1294 402 or call 999 for emergencies.

Night time, Weekend and Bank Holiday Out of Hours Arrangement
The NHS 111 service is responsible for providing medical cover when the Surgery is closed between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.00am on Weekdays, all through Saturday and Sunday and all Bank Holidays.
There is no telephone service at Townhead Surgery over Weekends or Bank Holidays.
If you need to contact a doctor when the surgery is closed please dial ‘111’ and you will be connected to the ‘111’ service. This is a free of charge call.
