Surgeries and clinics are run on an appointment system. You can book an appointment to see any of the doctors or nurses although you may prefer to see your 'usual' doctor.

We will always make appointments available to patients who need to be seen urgently within 48 hours. Please note that this may not always be with your usual doctor and there may be a wait as the Duty Doctor also deals with emergencies on the day.

To ensure that we can accomodate patients who wish to be seen within 48 hours, approximately half of each doctor's appointments are available to book in advance; the remainder are available to book on the day.

Urgent Appointments

All patients who need to be seen urgently by a doctor will be seen within 24 hours. We run daily surgeries where the duty doctor is assisted by the triage nurse to assess and deal with urgent problems. In the first instance, your call may be dealt with by a triage nurse and an appointment arranged for you.

Booking an Appointment by Telephone

The surgery is open to accept requests for urgent and routine appointments from 8am by telephoning the main surgery number 01729 822611

Booking an Appointment in Person

Appointments can be made by calling at the Surgery during opening hours. Our Practice Team will be pleased to help you

Running Late

Unfortunately, sometimes surgeries run late, often because patient's conditions are more complex than first thought and the Doctor needs to be thorough for the patient's benefit.

If you have waited up to 20 minutes for an appointment, please check with reception to see how long any further delay will be.

It is possible to make a longer appointment if you have more than one problem to discuss with the doctor. Please ask the receptionist when you book the appointment.

Help us to help you by making it clear how urgent the problem is.  We do ask receptionists to gather some brief details from you, of your condition, to ensure that we book you in with the most appropriate member of our pratice team and so that your condition can be triaged in case the GP feels you need to be seen sooner.

Please let us know if you cannot keep an appointment or change your mind as someone else may be able to use the appointment
